TLT announces acquisition of frac sand processing facility
NORTH BRANCH, Minnesota - Titan Lansing Transloading (TLT) has announced the purchase of a frac sand processing facility in North Branch, MN. The plant, purchased from the Tiller Corporation, sizes and dries raw sand from area mines into a finished product suitable for well fracing operations. The sand is then loaded into rail cars and shipped to energy production destinations around the country -- including TLT's four destination transloads in Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
"We are proud to add this processing asset to TLT's existing network of transloading locations," Shannon Himango, Titan Lansing Transloading president, said. "This purchase allows us to vertically-integrate our supply chain, resulting in greater efficiencies throughout our operation."
The facility is on the St. Croix Railroad (SCXY) and is served by the BNSF Railway. It has 700,000 tons of annual processing capacity.
